EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS
March 20, 2021
After days of consideration and discussion regarding the canceling of events, schools, and churches in our community as well as our nation due to COVID-19, it is with great sadness that the Junior League of Lufkin has decided it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel Touch a Truck on Saturday March 21st. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work together through these unexpected circumstances.
2019-2020 JLL President
Raffle with a Mission tickets are sold throughout the Spring until mid-May and can be purchased through any active or provisional JLL member.
Tickets will be sold for $1 each. The drawing is held each year at the Helping Hands luncheon.
All sales directly fund the projects of the Junior League of Lufkin, including Back to School Bonanza and Community Disbursements.
The Helping Hands annual fund offers a direct opportunity for businesses, sustainers, individuals and members to support the mission of the Junior League of Lufkin.
Without our Helping Hands supporters, many League projects would not be possible.
We offer several levels of sponsorship for three types of partnerships: Corporate, In-Kind Media and Sustainers.
The $20.20 campaign is an extension of the Helping Hands campaign that kicks off every January to reflect the current year. JLL members, their families, friends and Sustainers are asked to contribute to this yearly fundraiser to directly support the League’s mission.

The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a poverty awareness and fundraising campaign to raise consciousness about poverty and its effects on the family. Participants wear one black dress for five consecutive days to raise awareness about the prevalence of poverty in Angelina County. This year it is our goal to underscore the Junior League of Lufkin's (JLL) focus to educate and empower individuals by highlighting services provided by the following community resources in Angelina County:
Junior League of Lufkin Community Impact Projects
The funds raised from this campaign will support JLL's efforts to focus on the economically disadvantaged in Angelina County. The poverty level for a household of four is an annual income of $25,750. According to a 2018 United Way report about financial hardship in Texas, approximately 20% of families in Angelina County live in poverty. Another 30% live above the poverty line but below the basic cost of living.
The LBDI campaign will run from Monday, October 14th to Friday, October 18th.
We hope you will support our initiative by:
