EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS

Sept. 28 -Oct. 2
Little Black Dress Initiative (#LBDI) is a week-long awareness and fundraising campaign that harnesses the power of social media to educate Angelina County citizens about poverty in the community. LBDI participants wear the same black dress (or outfit) for five consecutive days to illustrate the restrictions poverty places on family’s choices, opportunities, and access to resources for their well-being.
How can I participate?
During LBDI week, we ask that you:
-
Wear one black dress or outfit for five (5) consecutive days
-
Follow our League on social media and like, comment, and share our posts with your friends and family
-
Follow our members on social media and like, comment and share their posts
-

The Helping Hands annual fund offers a direct opportunity for businesses, sustainers, individuals and members to support the mission of the Junior League of Lufkin.
Without our Helping Hands supporters, many League projects would not be possible.
We offer several levels of sponsorship for three types of partnerships: Corporate, In-Kind Media and Sustainers.

The $20.20 campaign is an extension of the Helping Hands campaign that kicks off every January to reflect the current year. JLL members, their families, friends and Sustainers are asked to contribute to this yearly fundraiser to directly support the League’s mission.

For only $30, you can purchase a ticket to Touch-A-Truck for every child in a classroom. You can specifically pick a school and classroom, or we can do that for you. The Touch-A-Truck committee will deliver armbands to that classroom the week of the event. Thank you for your support and providing the means for children to participate in our awesome event!
Respectfully,
Aimee Meyers
