The motto of Back to School Bonanza is “Together, we will make a difference in the lives of the children in Angelina County!” and it is truly a community-wide event. In addition to numerous community partners and volunteers, many thanks are also due to the Junior League of Lufkin’s Helping Hands sponsors; without their generous gifts, it would not be possible to pull off such a large endeavor.
If you would like to volunteer or your business or organization wants to help, please contact us here:

Camp Get Fit/Kids in the Kitchen is held during the summer for kids entering grades 3 and 4 at the Boys and Girls Club of Lufkin.
Campers participate in cooking, exercise, and health awareness with a focus on the importance of making lifelong healthy choices.
Kids in the Kitchen is part of a national campaign of the Association of Junior Leagues International. Find our more here!

Each year, the Junior League of Lufkin awards five scholarships to exemplary high school students.

Our 2025 scholarship recipients were:
Keyla Contreras - Central High School

Disbursements
Every year, the Junior League of Lufkin spends countless hours and effort to raise funds for Angelina County, and we are pleased to offer a portion of these funds to qualified non-profits and organizations.

We accept applications and review how an organization's mission and needs align with ours and determine how we can help.

Touch-a-Truck is a FREE event that provides a unique opportunity for children to explore vehicles of all types including public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation, delivery, and much more – all in one place! Children will be allowed to touch their favorite vehicles, get behind the wheel, and meet the people who help build, protect, and serve our community. Live music and food trucks will also be part of the day’s entertainment. We have wristbands available for kids for $5 that includes activities such as face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, and a petting zoo!
