President's Message

Welcome to the Junior League of Lufkin website!

I am so excited and honored to serve as the 2011-2012 President of the Junior League of Lufkin. Founded in 1953, the Junior League of Lufkin is an organization of more than 300 women united in a common mission: to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and to improve our community.

The impact that our League makes in our community is possible because of the devotion and talent of our members, including more than 125 active and more than 200 sustaining members. Junior League volunteers provide more than 4,000 volunteer hours of service to our community each year through projects such as our Back to School Bonanza, Family Nights, Career Conference, Camp Get Fit/Kids in the Kitchen and by performing Vision Screening for thousands of children in Angelina County schools.

The wonderful Helping Hands Annual Campaign sponsors allow us to serve Angelina County in many ways and to continue making a positive difference in the lives of women and children. In addition to our Annual Campaign, Junior League projects are funded by two annual fundraisers, Charity Ball and Spring Market. The year, we are embarking on an exciting change for Charity Ball. It has been rebranded as the New Year's Eve Ball and will be held at Crown Colony Country Club on December 31st. We are tremendously excited about this change and hope to see you there! Spring Market is April 19th – 21st and is held at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center. We improve the number and quality of vendors every year and this year is expected to be an exciting one! Please check back throughout the year for new announcements regarding our fundraisers.

We are a talented group of amazing women with incredibly generous spirits who truly care about our community.
